Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.
- Ability to communicate in German and English fluently, this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in German with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of cloud technologies and local technology landscape.
- Ability to develop and maintain media relationships with local business and technology press.
- Ability to own, be accountable, and delegate and grow careers of staffers.
- Excellent research and investigative skills, with the ability to quickly identify trending topics and issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
About the job
As the lead for cloud communications in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), you will work cross-functionally to help communicate our business, customer, partner and corporate stories to the media. You will have an opportunity to scale existing programs across multiple countries, develop strategies in tune with the local culture and tell a compelling narrative that is locally relevant to support our momentum in the cloud industry. Working closely with each country’s Sales leadership, Marketing, Policy, Legal and other Google PR team members, you will share our cloud stories in tech, business, vertical, and channel press. In addition, you will adapt and localize global news, create press releases and blog posts, develop a pipeline of local announcements and opportunities across the region, and manage your agencies to deliver strategic media coverage. You will collaborate with executives from across the organization, and interact with executives at our customers and partners.
Responsibilities
- Represent a high visibility business or product area, acting as a spokesperson.
- Manage agencies for high visibility programs by defining objectives, identifying key tasks or work streams, providing content, and establishing and monitoring budget.
- Represent communications perspective within cross-functional product area and business areas.
- Manage editorial inquiries and requests for information release. Promote the story and work with the journalist to provide additional information.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews and review briefing materials to prepare key spokespeople for cross-functional communications, coaching executives on PR and external communications to be effective Google spokespeople.
