Governor Rick Perry cut Texas volunteer fired department funding by 75%.
We must cut the size of government so let it burn baby. Just being fair and balanced.

Wait! ...Democratic governors don't make cuts in fire protection services? ;)

Oh now texas wants the governments help.. how convenient.

Also why dont you (facetious), the worm and trident make a competition thread where you see who can come up with the most immature and stupid Obama pet name. Whoever wins will be declared the most childish mentally challenged member on freeones. Your prize will be a helmet or a tin foil hat... your choice.

Which is it Gov. "Parry"??

It's a one way street... I guess.:dunno:

No thank you, I don't subscribe to radical tactics...

7.Tactics

"Tactics are those conscious deliberate acts by which human beings live with each other and deal with the world around them. ... Here our concern is with the tactic of taking; how the Have-Nots can take power away from the Haves." p.126

Always remember the first rule of power tactics (pps.127-134):

1. "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have."

2. "Never go outside the expertise of your people. When an action or tactic is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear and retreat.... [and] the collapse of communication.

3. "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."

7.5 "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."

BTW, who makes it a habit of coming up with immature and stupid pet names for their political enemies?

At least the brave Governor of Texas didn't do anything foolish, like cut the fire budget that would have forced firemen to buy things like hoses and oxygen.

Oh. Wait...

But, I am sure that is Obama's fault. Because in the mind of a conservative, it is the state's right to slash and burn the budgets, but it is the President's fault for not stopping them from their own foolishness.

So you're saying that because the state government of Texas was ill-prepared for conditions such as these, the people of Texas should go screw?

I thought all liberals cared about the sanctity and preciousness of all human life? Maybe its just those who agree with their political viewpoints that should be protected?

So, given your arguments here, should we assume then that you also believe that the people affected by hurricane Katrina should not have received federal assistance because of their inadequate levee system (which the state was responsible to), the state-level underfunding of the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and their overall apathy toward planning and preparedness for natural disasters in general?

These two scenarios sound similar. But somehow the state of Louisiana gets a pass for being financially and departmentally ignorant, and as a result being unable to protect its own citizens from both the potential and realized environmental hazards of the region?

Hypocrisy.

Can we blame Obama for starting the fire. Somebody had to do it, right?

I mean, we didn't start the fire. It was always burning...

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Perry is not a Christian nor a Republican.

Rick Perry is a puppet.

Not according to the latest polls, Willie, so it doesn't really matter what you think. There's an old saying here in Texas...."show me who you run with and I'll show you who you are". If Perry gets the nomination, he IS the republican party despite your protestations to the contrary.

Poll: Perry opens wide lead on Romney
By Catalina Camia, USA TODAY

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a wide lead over rival Mitt Romney in a new GOP presidential poll and is viewed as having the best chance to defeat President Obama next year.

Hours before eight Republicans face off tonight in another key debate, the CNN/ORC International poll shows Perry leading Romney, 30%-18%. More than four in 10 GOP voters say Perry is the most electable candidate, compared with 26% who say Romney can beat Obama.

Please....any and all reasonable non-nutball non-evangelical christian conservatives out there....listen to me....give this moderate social liberal voter a reasonable and legitimate alternative to Obama who doesn't reek of the worst extremism of your party. I'll vote for him (or her....who ever that might be) in a second if he (or her) just doesn't slide all the way over to the right the way it appears it will be. Rick Perry is unelectable and Obama will destroy him. You force me to vote for him if he is the nominee. I don't think I am alone by any means, either.

You guys are your own worst enemy if this happens. You have a golden opportunity to not only take back the White House but to possibly galvanize the nation behind a strong and effective leader who can get us out of the mess we are in. Instead, it looks like you will blow it. If (when?) that happens, you inability or unwillingness to seek common ground will be your undoing.

Awesome response. Brilliantly phrased. Not at all childish.

I'm lying. It's a fucking stupid response.

My thoughts exactly. I Love being proven right in the same thread I made the accusation in.

And... Obama can't be trusted to speak without a teleprompter.

All Presidents are made fun of. Just get used to it.

Yea they all do, so like I said challenge yourself and stop sounding like you're in grade school.

Maybe Obama thought Governor Rick already had somebody else helping us:

Remember when the common saying among religious people was, "God helps those who help themselves"? Back when it was implied good people do good things for goodness own sake, they try to help their fellow man and raise them up by giving genuine help out of the kindness of their hearts and love with no ulterior motive, that one tries to do their best to make the world a better place while giving everybody their inherent rights?

Now (To be honest, not like there weren't people in the past like this though.), people want God to fix all their problems for them, that they often have created themselves yet don't except their blame for their part of it, all the while abandoning half the most important tenants of their religion because it's inconvenient or doesn't fit their selfish desires while still pretending to care about them.
